The Bahá’ís of Aurora participate collectively in a range of activities, including Holy Days, administrative meetings and social events. The focus of their efforts, however, is on contributing to the betterment of their community through four main activities, which are open to all.
The Bahá’í Writings state, “Among the greatest of all services that can possibly be rendered by man to Almighty God is the education and training of children.” Children’s classes take place in homes throughout Aurora and impart children with such essential spiritual values as truthfulness, courage and knowledge of God.
Junior Youth Groups
Youth undergo a period of intense questioning and uncertainty between the ages of 12 and 14. Yet they also possess a vast amount of spiritual energy and insight. Junior youth groups enable these peers to reflect on their most fundamental questions and to use the insight they have gained in service of their families, friends and communities.
Open to all, study circles allow collaborators to discuss the eternal questions of the purpose of life, the nature of the soul and our relationship to God. Underlying the discussions is the understanding that personal spiritual fulfillment is intimately tied to one’s service to the community and society.
At the heart of devotional gatherings is the human impulse to connect with God through the Sacred Word. Held in homes, devotional gatherings allow friends and family to come together and draw inspiration from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh and the other divine Messengers of God.
If you’re interested in participating in one of these activities here in Aurora. please get in touch.
